RECONDITION

Award winning Ellie Brown is the founder of Recondition, an adaptive fashion brand providing stylish statement products centred on functionality and mindful of disabled bodies.
Ellie had always dreamt of starting her own business but as a conscious designer since she graduated with a Degree in BA Hons Fashion Design and Technology at Manchester Fashion Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University, she never wanted to bring more unnecessary products to an already over-saturated industry.
After breaking her ankle in 2021 she gained an insight into a world she had had the privilege of never having to think about before. This is where her passion to solve a problem began… and so Recondition was born.
By designing with a user-centred process, and working alongside the community, Recondition brings meaningful products to the market. Crafting functional clothes without compromising on style.
“We give back to our consumers in the form of community driven events, these aim to share stories of the disabled community, educate and inspire around accessibility.”
Ellie’s own personal values include her love of upcycling in particular denim, and she ensures that everyday pieces are given a new lease of life to last and helps to reduce textile waste, and most recently she has teamed up with ‘THE LOOM APP’ the upcycling restoration platform that connects independent designers with customers who wish to redesign their clothes.
Recondition’s mission is to create an inclusive fashion landscape with equal opportunities of self-expression through personal style, and the community.
