Housed in a charming 19th century infrastructure, The Yard Atelier boasts character and captivates your imagination. Providing inspiring surroundings and a safe space for exploration, exposed brickwork and vintage furnishings features throughout.
The Yard Atelier has 2 large studio spaces comprising of our Machine Studio and our Pattern Studio. From hosting meetings at the start of the ideation stages, or final making, our spacious set-up has been curated for your collections to take shape.
The Details
Each studio is situated on the ground floor, providing easy mobility access to both areas. The Machine Studio provides a fully functioning workroom supported by Brother industrial lockstitch machines, Brother computerised domestic sewing machines x 6, Brother industrial buttonholer HE800B-3, Brother 6-thread embroidery machine, 4-thread overlocker, 3-thread overlocker, 2/3 needle thread seam cover stitch machine (suitable for sportswear), fusing press, fully functioning steam iron and vacuum table, full-size mannequins, and half-scale mannequins.
The Pattern Studio provides cutting tables, work desks and chairs, whilst both studio’s are provided with wonderful natural daylight (sometimes the sun does shine in Manchester!) from its surrounding windows. There is also a seating area in the Pattern Studio to provide for a more relaxed workspace whilst prepping for research and design development.
Other spaces in The Yard are host to a never-ending mix of live-band music gigs, DJ nights, jazz evenings, exhibitions, concerts, pop-up events including vintage fairs, and even used as a host venue for off-site business meetings. We never know what’s round the corner plus a great opportunity for you to network should you bump into anyone!
We also have a communal kitchen space and facilities to support all your needs.
