“Textiles play a huge part and when I first started to consider what fabrics I would use for my collections, I found out that the most disturbing fact was that we use and continue to use natural and man-made resources for the textile industry without considering what awaits us in the future.
My philosophy is simple – be considerate about the textiles we use and to remember where we came from or at least give an acknowledgment to the inspirational past of yesterday.”
“Every person has the opportunity to start a new life. I was in my late fifties when I entered Higher Education. Becoming a designer was not in my plans, I felt as if I knew nothing about designing and pattern cutting, and to be honest, I was too devoted to my family before I had the chance to study again. The knowledge gained at University showed me all the levels and processes that go into designing and making a cohesive collection and opened my eyes to the fashion industry.
