Ruth Bronwen Bridge is an inspirational designer and dressmaker living in Manchester, where she creates luxury bridal and occasion wear. Her eponymous label, Bronwen Bridge, offers a bespoke and personal service, with a strong focus on understanding her clients’ needs; using the finest fabrics to craft beautifully tailored and fitted gowns.
Rooted in unconventional thinking, Ruth’s dynamic approach stems from her home-schooled upbringing, where her passion for dressmaking began at a young age. “I like finding the meeting point in opposite extremes—new and old, structure and softness, light and dark, geometry and organic forms—and working these into my garments.” Her technical and mathematical mindset greatly influences her precision in pattern cutting and tailoring. She enjoys playing with texture and transparency, blending structured tailoring with fluid and feminine silhouettes.
Ruth’s design philosophy is based in creating modern, innovative pieces while maintaining timeless elegance. “I draw a lot of inspiration from my clients’ personalities, listening carefully to their vision and making adjustments along the way. I love the whole process—from designing to sourcing beautiful fabrics, pattern cutting, sewing, and fitting – each step is important to me.”
